Six, yes count them, 6 varieties of beans all ready for picking at the same time. We, including little Charlie, love beans here in this household so i planted as many types as i could find. Yay!! beans for breakfast!!
Followed by raspberries and yoghurt. This is just the afternoon's pick, there was a morning pick and an all day birdie picking too. I probably grow too many but they're easily frozen.
And don't let anyone tell you that you can't grow broccoli in Summer, here's proof and i grew it from seed as i couldn't buy any seedlings. I'll do that more often now.
The tomatoes have been at picking stage for about 2 weeks now, this is only what i could find in the garden this afternoon as i had picked the ripe ones this morning.
I think these are called Soft Billy Buttons - a small headed indigenous arid lands everlasting type daisy
The foliage is grey not green which means they are very hardy. They will flower now for months, until Autumn, then turn into a burr which sticks to your clothes and transports the seed further afield. very pretty.
I never cease to be amazed by the antics of pansies, this one is self seeded and so cheeky, as most ferals are
and so are these, they never cease to delight.
And talking of delightful antics, i just can't take a photo without someone coming right up and insisting on being a celebrity - if you look hard you'll see me in his eyes. I hope you all have or had a delightful Solstice, whether Summer or Winter, and stay safe and connected over this weekend's festivities.

Yummy, beautiful and oh so cute!! Beans and raspberries are my favourites, but I've never eaten a purple bean. Do they taste any different than the string variety?
Your garden is the absolute fruit of the earth! I am popping in to send you this solstice descript from Garrison Keillor's The writers Almanac, and to wish you sweet solstice salutation:
"Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and the astronomical event that has more rituals and ceremonies associated with it than any other. It is no coincidence that there are numerous holidays around the solstice, for the timing of these holidays is rooted in ancient religions. There is archaeological evidence that the solstice has been important to human cultures for at least 30,000 years; many ancient stone structures like Stonehenge are designed to pinpoint the precise date of the solstice, and many ancient peoples held festivals of light to bring about the return of summer's longer days.
The term solstice means "sun stands still." It is when the sun stays closer to the horizon than at any other time of the year and appears to rise and set in the same place for several days in a row. But while the sun stands still and tonight is long, stars may appear to streak through the sky as the Earth passes through a stream of comet dust — the yearly Ursid meteor shower — which may produce a pleasing shower of shooting stars for northern viewers near the end of the night."
OS-I love your dear doggie.
your garden is a constant amazement. wishing you joyful Solstice.
I loved this, seeing your produce and flowers and that sweet dog! Here in Denver, Colorado, we have close to a foot of snow and more is falling. You and I are each experiencing the fullness of Solstice! I wish you a continuing abundant harvest in the months to come.
What a harvest! At summer solstice we may have the earliest potatoes and strawberries but not much else. I'm looking forward to longer days in a while.
What a wonderful garden filled with bright colors and the anticipation of tasty eating! Yum! May all of your harvests fill your stomachs, hearts and home.

Happy Summer Solstice to you too Kaite! Aww, your pup is SO CUTE!!
Your garden crops are looking great. I am a massive bean fan as well. Love them every which way.
Tickles for Charlie :)
Anne Marie the purple beans taste about the same as the green ones, and in fact they turn green when cooked, the main advantage of them is that they are easier to see when picking.
Ms i'll look out for that meteor shower, maybe i can catch a falling star!
deanna, and you too, a joyful Solstice and Festivous.
Ulla i hadn't thought to look for baby potatoes, but we've had strawberries since October.
Michelle that 'pup' is a mean old dog, he's 13.
Sarah the scarlet runner beans are Tasmanians, their ancestors came from Sandy Bay.
